Unlock hidden BMW features with your smartphone

One of the primary benefits that users will get with the newly launched app is the ability to unlock many hidden features in their vehicles, as well as dealer-wide diagnostics.

Called One-Click Apps, preset coding functions unlock features hidden in the BMW Group listed models. For example, drivers will be able to enable music streaming via Bluetooth, change the look and feel of the dashboard once the ignition is turned on, or change the appearance and behavior of their lights.

All these functions and much more will not require any programming knowledge and can be enabled on their smartphone with a single click.

“We have developed and tested the most desirable one-click applications for users after extensive market research, which also allowed us to identify the most popular BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce models, allowing us to offer a customization solution that is explained by Edvardas Astrauskas, CEO (CEO ) to Voltas IT, the company behind OBDeleven: “No one else in the smart car hardware market offers it.

With the app’s diagnostic features, drivers will be able to scan, read and scan trouble codes using their smartphone, as the Bluetooth device replaces the need to carry heavy equipment to properly diagnose the warning light on the dashboard.

Quality focused development

According to the CEO, as soon as the BMW Group granted its license to the company, development began to be implemented with priority given to quality. “We are launching the BMW app with a great focus on quality and ease of use for our users,” said Astrauskas. “We have thoroughly tested the diagnostic and customization features by OBDeleven, ensuring that the final product after closed, open and in-house beta testing will be market leading,” the CEO added.

While work will continue to develop applications focused on both BMW and VAG, “We are extremely proud of what we have achieved at OBDeleven since we launched to the public more than eight years ago.” “Our goal is to establish ourselves as the world’s leading intelligent diagnostic device,” concluded Astrauskas.

OBDeleven is an intelligent automotive software and hardware solution that has been in development since 2014. With official licenses from the Volkswagen Group and BMW Group, the device and app provides users with full functionality to diagnose and customize their vehicles and connect more than two million vehicles since the device became publicly available in 2015.
