Not much on offer on iPhone 13 – The New Indian Express

New Delhi: The American tech giant Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 14 series, as the company launched four devices – iPhone 14 at a starting price of R79,000, iPhone 14 Plus at R89,900, iPhone 14 Pro at R1, 29,900 and iPhone 14 Pro Max at a cost of R1,39,900. This time we got the iPhone 14 for the review.

About the device
iPhone 14 is the primary device in the iPhone 14 series, and it comes in four colors: Blue, Midnight, Violet, Starlight, and Red. It has three storage options – 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB.

The device looks quite similar to the iPhone 13, or it can be called a copy of the iPhone 13. This means that Apple has not made any changes to its design – the same camera module placed diagonally and a similar rectangular notch. However, the iPhone 14 is compact, fits well in the hand, and no one will have any trouble using the device with one hand. Also, it comes with a Ceramic Shield glass on the front, which Apple claims is the strongest glass. It also comes with IP68 water and dust resistance. If you are submerged in water, it will still work.

iPhone 14 comes with a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display with an OLED panel. This means that the phone will give you a good viewing experience, and you will enjoy watching videos with this phone. Also, one will not have any viewing problem with this phone in any lighting mode, be it indoors, outdoors or in sunlight.

The iPhone 14 is powered by an A15 Bionic processor and a hexa-core GPU. It runs on iOS 16. Usually, Apple upgrades its processor with new versions but with the iPhone 14 it kept the same processor as the iPhone 13. The only difference is that the iPhone 13 has a five-core GPU while the iPhone 14 has a six-core GPU.

But this does not mean that it will have any effect on its performance as it runs smoothly and handles all tasks without any glitches. During our two weeks of use, the Essential phone played games, watched videos, opened multiple tabs or apps and so it worked smoothly. The camera has always been the best part of iPhones. Apple didn’t disappoint the iPhone 14 either. It comes with two 12MP camera sensors on the back. Photos clicked with iPhone 14 are really sharp and balanced. The low light photos really impressed us.

Also worth noting is the iPhone 14’s Action Mode, which will bring more stability while creating videos. The iPhone 14 spare battery is another thing that impressed us. It can last all day even with good use like browsing, watching videos, playing games or clicking as many pictures as one wants. However, it lacks fast charging support and does not have a battery in the box.

During our more than two weeks of use, we found the iPhone 14 to be a good phone with a better camera experience, better battery backup, and smooth performance. But you can find all these things in iPhone 13 (almost the same specs and features at a cheaper price).

Should you buy it?
Yes, only if you want to become part of the Apple family (iPhone 13 can also be a good and cheaper option). Avoid it if you are an iPhone 12 or 13 user, and it is best to wait for the iPhone 15 to boot.
