Now that it’s October, we can look forward to some exciting new releases of smartphones. More than a dozen flagship smartphones were launched last month, making it a busy month. With the festive season still in full swing, October sees the introduction of several new smartphones. Here is the list of smartphones that you can consider buying this festive season:
Vivo X80 Pro Plus
The Vivo X80 Pro Plus is not a frequent upgrade, but a substantial upgrade. Rumors state that the phone will ship with a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor as the primary sensor and a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN2 sensor as a secondary and that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.

JIO 5G phone
Jio Phone 5G has been speculated alongside the company’s 5G rollout in India. Known as ‘Ganga’, it is believed to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 5G system-on-chip. The Snapdragon chipset included in the Moto G51 is an affordable option, but it’s also an older SoC. The phone is said to have a 6.5-inch HD+ display that refreshes at 90Hz. The phone also has a 13MP primary camera and an additional 2MP sensor for capturing macro photos. An 8MP front camera is also included. They will have a 5000 mAh battery and support 18W fast charging. It is expected that the phone will cost between Rs. 8000 rupees. 12,000, which is quite reasonable given its relatively modest specs.

xiaomi 12 lite
Xiaomi 12 Lite has already been launched worldwide, and the Indian version is imminent. It has a 6.55-inch Full HD + AMOLED display and 120Hz. Snapdragon 778G SoC is what drives it. An 8MP ultra-duper camera and a 2MP macro camera are part of the 108MP triple camera. There is a 32MP selfie camera on the front. The smartphone is powered by a 4300mAh battery compatible with 67W fast charging.

Google Pixel 7 series
In a surprising move, Google has announced that its Pixel 7 series will be available in India at the same time as it is being released elsewhere. It’s been a long time since we saw Google’s premium Pixel phones in India. Our only exposure to Google’s range of affordable smartphones ended with the Pixel 3 series. Both phones have the same Tensor G2 processor. The Pixel 7 Pro will have a 120Hz AMOLED display on its 6.7-inch screen, while the standard Pixel 7 will have a 90Hz screen. Its main camera will have 50 megapixels, and the secondary cameras will be unique. The Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 both feature 12MP ultra-wide cameras, but only the Pixel 7 Pro has a 48MP telephoto camera. Both devices will have a 10.8MP front camera.

Moto G72 is Motorola’s latest 4G smartphone in India. The POLED display refreshes at 120Hz and its brightness can reach 1,300 nits. The brains of the phone is the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. It will have a 108MP triple camera and a 33W fast charging capable battery. Out of the box, the phone runs a nearly stock version of Android 12.
