It has been MB Technews’ tradition to share our tech discoveries of content with blogger friends and vloggers. This year, we’re sharing one of the country’s first iPhone 14 Pro Max units with them.
The iPhone Pro Max, iPhone Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone 14 officially went on sale over the weekend. I haven’t used the iPhone for a long time, so when I knew we would have the latest iPhone on the first day of release, I immediately agreed and decided to write this first impression.
To find out your iPhone variant, check the model number by going to Settings > General > About. To the right of the model, you will see the part number. To find out the model number, click on the part number. Both the model number and the part number can identify the type of iPhone you have.
The model number will tell you if you have iPhone Pro Max (A2651, A2893, A2896, A2895, A2894), iPhone 14 Pro (A2659, A2889, A2892, A2891, A2890), iPhone 14 Plus (A2632, A2885, A2888, A2887, A2886 ), or iPhone 14 (A2649, A2881, A2884, A2883, A2882)
The model number and part number are basically the same, but looking at the part number in your iPhone’s About section will give you more details about the device. The numbers and letters represent information that will help you when you need to repair, replace, or renew your iPhone. The part number will provide you with information about the technical parameters of the device, the country of origin, and whether the device is new or refurbished.
The MB Technews team received the iPhone 14 Pro Max from Hong Kong with dual nano-SIM support. The iPhone 14 series has three variants when it comes to SIM card support.
1) In the US, the new iPhone 14 lineup will only come with an eSIM, which is a SIM card digitally embedded on the device. No physical SIM to activate the US version; Alternatively, your carrier can provide it remotely so that you can connect to their network. Apple said you can install eight or more eSIMs on an iPhone and use two phone numbers simultaneously.
2) The China and Hong Kong variant will have Dual Nano SIM support.
3) If you order your new iPhone 14 outside the US, including the Philippines, you will get a device that supports either two SIM cards, one nano-SIM card, one eSIM or dual eSIM support.
We have got information from a third party source that Dual Nano SIM has a higher price than other variants due to the high demand for it.
Here is something unique to the iPhone 14 series, it is the first product from Apple that supports satellite communication. Apple said the satellite calling feature is for emergency SOS messaging and won’t replace regular cellular calling. With iPhone 14 models, you can use Emergency SOS over satellite emergency services to send text messages when you’re out of cellular and Wi-Fi coverage, a lifesaving add-on in an emergency. This feature will be exclusive to iPhone 14 users in the US and Canada at launch in November. However, there are reports that Apple will announce additional countries that will have a satellite SOS emergency later this year.
The camera is one of the main reasons why I regularly upgrade to a new phone. Compared to its older brother with a 12MP camera system, the 14 Pro Max is better due to its 48MP sensor. I spoke to an iPhone fanatic who got his iPhone on the first day of its availability, and he told me that while he did get the iPhone 14 Pro Max, he wasn’t as excited as before. Yes, the 14 Pro Max has a great camera and features, but its 13 Pro Max can do most of the features that the 14 Pro Max can. But even with this, it still has the iPhone 14 Pro Max because of what a 48MP sensor can do, including the ability to take a full 48MP photo.
The 14 Pro Max’s screen looks the same as the 13 Pro Max. Yes, there is a slight difference, but you cannot immediately recognize it, even if you compare them directly. However, the new dynamic island that has replaced the notch will attract the attention of users. It’s the pill-shaped outline on the front that can show notifications and other events. What’s impressive is that this dynamic island can also act as a status bar when needed.
The new iPhone 14 Pro Max now supports an always-on display, a feature that Android devices have used for years.
This is just a quick first impression, and I still need to explore the many features of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but if I am asked to sum up my experience with the new iPhone 14 Pro Max, I can do it in one word – awesome. I highly recommend this to first-time iPhone users and those who are going to upgrade from the iPhone 13 series.
