In an emergency, you can press the side button in Iphone Several times to get a quick call to 911. This feature is called Emergency SOS, and it’s useful to have in the event of a serious car accident or home invasion – where you might be incapacitated or need to be discreet – but unfortunately, it’s also easy to trigger the feature by accident.

If you have children or tend to fiddle with your iPhone, it is very common to accidentally call emergency services. All it takes is a few taps or a long tap, and suddenly you not only call 911 but also text your loved ones to let them know you might be in danger. And that’s a problem if you’re not in trouble.

Fortunately, it is very easy to prevent Emergency SOS from activating accidentally, while still keeping the feature available in the event of an actual emergency. In this guide, we will show you how to toggle some settings so that 911 does not crash on your iPhone.
